Robust inclinometers with CANopen interface
With the QG65, Dewit Industrial Sensors (DIS) offers a highly robust inclinometer that measures up to a full 360° rotation single axis or up to ±90° dual axis with respect to the earth gravity without reference parts.
In addition the QG65 has a CANopen interface for easy communication.
Full 360° angle
The new QG65 is the latest addition to the Quadro-G inclinometer range, that includes single, dual and triple axis inclinometers and accelerometers. The QG65 measures a full 360° angle in the vertical plane. This is especially demanded for electronic control of the arms of e.g. mobile cranes, where angular movements greater than 180° occur. The complete covering of the 360° angle provides an easy mounting of the QG65.
The QG65 is also available for measuring tilt in the horizontal plane (both X and Y: ±90° or sub ranges) or for measuring sub ranges in the vertical plane (e.g. ±45°).
Robust construction
The QG65 inclinometer withstands shocks up to 20 000 g. Additionally the micro-electronics is potted in a compact aluminum die-cast or stainless steel housing. The result is IP67.
Two M12 connectors (male and female) provide an easy 'loop-through' cabling of the CANopen interface. The operating temperature ranges from −25 °C to +85 °C.
The QG65 is easy to mount anywhere on a tilting object as it does not need to interface with another object as a reference.
Angle measurement
The X and Y axis values are internally combined to give a single value for the 360° angle. Also the separate X and Y values can be read via the CANopen interface. Each QG65 is individually calibrated and the calibration values are stored into the internal Eeprom.
The resolution is 0,01° and the accuracy is up to 0,2°.
QG65 main types
- QG65-MI-360H-CAN-CFM: vertical single axis, full 360° support. Also sub-ranges are possible (e.g. ±90°).
- QG65-MI-060H-CAN-CFM: vertical or horizontal single axis. Also available in other ranges: e.g. 045, 005/020 and with 4 mA to 20 mA current output or 0,5 V to 4,5 V voltage output.
- QG65-MD-010H-CAN-CFM: horizontal dual axis (X and Y). Also available in other ranges: e.g. 045, 005/020 and with 4 mA to 20 mA current output or 0,5 V to 4,5 V voltage output.

QG65 programmable CANopen parameters
CANopen parameters can be factory set in the internal Eeprom (e.g. the default node-ID), but can also be changed in the field via specific CANopen commands.

The QG65 can be configured with a CAN-to-USB converter and accompanying PC-program (PCAN-View from Peak-System Technik).
Optionally the QG65 can be equipped with an LED with CANopen functionality.
Optionally the internal sensor temperature and/or individual X and Y values can be read out via specific CANopen commands.
CE approval
The QG65 is fully tested by TÜV. The QG65 conforms to CE and complies with the requirements of the directive 2004/104/EC and 2006/28/EC, automotive directive for EMC in automotive environment. The QG65 also complies with the standards EN 61000-6-2:2005, EN 61000-6-3:2007, (parts of) EN 13309:2000 and all relevant amendments (emission and immunity).
