CrossFire GX
– configurable I/O-module for hydraulics control
CrossFire GX is an ultra-rugged and versatile I/O-module and controller designed for mobile applications. With its high robustness the module is ideal for use close to the I/O to be handled. The I/O on the unit targets advanced working hydraulics control. The I/O is configurable, meaning that several CrossFire GX units can be used for different I/O and controller tasks on a machine.
Advanced I/O interfaces
The I/O interfaces are designed for demanding control tasks where reliability and performance are critical. Furthermore, the design enables implementation of diagnostics and system built-in-test.
- High driving capacity of current outputs, up to 2 A per channel
- Current controlled PWM outputs to ensure correct functionality in hydraulic systems
- Status feedback on digital outputs (On/Off)
- Short circuit protection on all inputs and outputs
- 2 separate power supply groups for sensors
- Status LEDs next to each I/O connector, for instant visual feedback
CrossFire GX has total of 42 configurable I/O channels, see specification on next page.
Robust mechanics
CrossFire GX has cast aluminum housing and is silicone moulded which gives the unit extraordinary resistance to shock loads and water/dust intrusion. Reliable and robust DIN M12 connectors are used for I/O and CAN.
Tough in the rough
The module has state-of-the-art environmental characteristics, a result of the CrossControl experience from demanding civil and military applications. The unit has a wide power supply range, a wide operating temperature range and excellent EMC characteristics.
Versatile functionality
CrossFire GX can be used either as CANopen-slave with CiA 401 profile or as a controller. When used as a controller the unit either can execute its own application in a distributed system or run a master application in a centralized system. Depending on the application and the preference of the developer, different languages and tools can be used for developing such applications:
- IEC 61131-3 with tools like Codesys
- C/C++ with tools like Tasking or Keil Microvision
- UML with tools like I-Logix
- Rhapsody
