CANopen safety chip (CSC02) micro-controller
In stock
The CSC02 is based on the CSC01. It provides two CAN modules on-chip. The micro-controller implements the CANopen application layer (CiA 301 version 4.02) and the CANopen safety protocol (CiA 304 version 1.0). The chip is suitable to be used for safety-related sensor as well as actuator device applications. It also can be used for safety-related control devices as communication processor optionally connected to the safety-related application processor. The CSC02 can be used for devices to be compliant with IEC 61508 up to SIL 3 (safety integrity level). The chip is TÜV approved.
The CSC02 features- NMT slave functionality
- 2 SRDO to be transmitted
- 2 SRDO to be received
- GFC (global failsafe command)
- 2 PDO to be transmitted
- 2 PDO to be received
- 1 SDO server
- Emergency producer function
- Heartbeat producer function
- PDO linking capability
- Variable PDO mapping capability
- Asynchronous and synchronous PDO transmission
- CSC02a: normal package, up to +85 °C
- CSC02b: small package, up to +85 °C
- CSC02c: normal package, up to +125 °C
- CSC02d: small package, up to +125 °C
The CSC02 micro-controller in a QFP-100 housing runs at 16 MHz. It provides 10 KiB internal SRAM and 256 KiB Flash memory. Approximately 2,5 KiB SRAM and 10 KiB Flash memory are available for the user-specific safety application. The micro-controller is specified for operation in a temperature range from −40 °C to +85 °C.
The CSC01 starter kit (fully compatible to CSC02) is made of two single-board computer boards featuring the CSC02 CANopen safety chip and all necessary additional circuitry to connect simple safety-relevant input devices (e.g. emergency switch) or safety-relevant output devices (e.g. safety relay). The modules also provide simple watchdog circuits and power supply circuitries. The kit comes with cables and handbook.
